Replaced a complex spreadsheet system with a clean Laravel application, saving thousands of hours annually for 200+ workers.

The Challenge

A company managing shifts for over 200 workers across 24/7 shift patterns was drowning in spreadsheet complexity. Tracking absence, sickness, holidays, and shift swaps was error-prone. The spreadsheet took weeks to learn, and simply working out who was on which shift was difficult. Both admin and shift staff suffered from these inefficient processes.

The Solution

I built a custom Laravel application with a clean, intuitive interface focused on simplicity. The system included leave requests, calendar views with filtering, automated email updates, and request forms. While not overly complex technically, the simple but effective features and user-friendly design made shift management straightforward for everyone.
